Flex4Res recognised as a Gaia-X lighthouse project

Flex4Res is designated as a Gaia-X lighthouse project, emphasising its commitment to enhancing the resilience of European manufacturing and supply chains through secure and interoperable data-sharing frameworks. Gaia-X lighthouse projects are exemplary initiatives that utilise the Gaia-X framework to create platforms for trustworthy and independent data exchange.

“Being recognised as a Gaia-X lighthouse project is a significant milestone for Flex4Res,” says Dr Kosmas Alexopoulos, project coordinator of Flex4Res. “This acknowledgment validates our efforts to foster secure and sovereign data-sharing solutions that enhance the resilience of the European manufacturing industry and promote flexible supply chains across Europe.”

Flex4Res is focused on developing an open platform based on the Gaia-X framework and the International Data Space Reference Architecture Model (IDS-RAM), enhanced with Asset Administration Shell (AAS) technology. The project features two toolboxes: one for resilience assessment, enabling industries to evaluate and strengthen their capacity to withstand disruptions, and another to support the dynamic reconfiguration of production lines and supply chains, maintaining operational efficiency and flexibility.

Creating an exchange platform for various industries based on trust, transparency and openness is the goal of Gaia-X. Gaia-X lighthouse projects are best practices that align with Gaia-X principles and standards. They demonstrate a distinguished commitment to advancing digital sovereignty. These projects aim to create data exchange platforms built on transparency, trust and openness across multiple industries, including manufacturing, agriculture and mobility.
