IDEKO Research Center hosted the second Flex4Res Project General Assembly, which took place in Elgoibar, Spain, on 16 and 17 May 2023. More than 40 participants from the 17 partner organisations participated in the project meeting, in person and online. Besides discussions on the latest developments, site visits of Goimek S. Coop and IDEKO were on the agenda.

Between updates and insights

The first day was focused on the work packages around the use cases with the project partners Goimek, Hans Berg, Sidenor and voestalpine. Contents such as system requirements and system architecture were discussed as well as the open platform based on the Gaia-X framework, the asset administration shell and the resilience assessment toolbox.

After a short lunch break, the consortium visited the production site of Goimek in Itziar. As part of the DANOBAT Group, Goimek produces parts for high-precision machines for milling and grinding. In their facilities in Itziar, Goimek provided an insight into their shopfloor with a variety of precision machining services.

The day ended with a visit to IDEKO’s Research Center. There, the project partners were given a lab tour with a focus on machining, robotisation of processes and the integration of additive manufacturing technologies into existing process chains.

All about the four use cases

On the second day the four industry-related use cases were in the spotlight. During mini-workshops, important topics for the implementation of the solutions as well as the latest developments were discussed, and the next steps were planned.
